Kurzgesagt: In A Nutshell, or simply Kurzgesagt, is a Munich-based educational channel and studio founded by Philipp Dettmer in 2013. They focus on producing high-quality and factual content on scientific, technological, political, philosophical and psychological subjects. Narrated by Steve Taylor, each video on the channel is typically 4–16 minutes in length, and are available in German through the channel Dinge Erklärt – Kurzgesagt.
Why They Deserve Nuts (food)
- Their videos are of extremely high quality, and they can still make 2 in a month at times!
- Phenomenal animation is very fluid and beautiful.
- They can tackle scientific and philosophical subjects very well
- Recently, they have tried to significantly improve themselves.
- They exposed Facebook for stealing video views!
- They are relatively unbiased in their work.
- They can take criticism very well.
- Despite being a very good YouTube channel, they still want to continuously improve.
- The bird characters are very funny and cute.
- Despite their video on Addiction being rather well-received, they admitted its flaws and decided to make a better video about Addiction, which shows how they are dedicated to their work.
- Steve Taylor is an excellent narrator and his voice is very soothing.
- They collaborate with other excellent channels such as TEDEd and ASAPscience.
- They admitted they lied to users by cutting information for convenience.
The Only Bad Quality.
- The older videos were a bit weird and scientifically-inaccurate, but the quality is still OK for them.
