Christopher Luke "Chris" O'Neill (born: November 21, 1990 [age 31]), better known online as OneyPlays (also known as OneyNG and Oney), is an Irish YouTuber, animator, gamer, music producer, and game developer. He is the owner of OneyPlays, a channel where he uploads Let's Play videos, sometimes by himself or with friends. He seems to have retired the videos where he plays by himself.

Why They're Amazing

1. They are absolutely hilarious, and are able to make great and funny jokes and humor without thinking too hard about it. Examples include:
   • Chris and DingDong recording sound effects and modding them into Super Mario 64.
   • Chris and Zach singing the "Tomar theme song" every time Tomar walks into a room in slow motion.
   • Lyle telling stories about his past encounters with rats.
   • Julian's "Chris, help! It's me, your dad!"
   • Chris and Zach referring to Tomar as "Tomy."
   • The hosts writing a creepypasta called "Mario Says the Fuck Word."
   • Chris saying "woah" a lot, especially while jumping, while playing Crash Bandicoot 2.
   • Chris noticing random characters in a video game (mainly bald ones with beards) and saying "Look, Tomar, it's you!"
   • The Mario, eh eh eh song.
2. Many memorable and entertaining series on the channel, such as the main series for which the channel is named, Slightly Artistic, and Boney Plays.
3. The opening tune of each episode is memorable, and the outro theme ("Roboditty") is sick.
4. The gameplay is competent, and each of the hosts seem to know what they're doing. Especially from DingDong during their mh:awesomegames:Cuphead episode.
5. The hosts are great and likeable, well-known, and have their own specialties.
   • Chris, better known as OneyNG, a Newgrounds animator turned game developer who is aware of his own idiocy.
   • Ding Dong, another game developer who is very good and competent at video games, and his dryly delivered humor brings a lot to the channel.
   • Julian, Ding Dong's best friend (and yet another game developer) whose laugh instantly makes any joke 10 times better.
   • Zach, who is known as the famous Newgrounds animator psychicpebbles.
   • Tomar, an amazing voice actor known for his roles in Super Smash Flash 2 and Fraymakers.
   • Lyle, the main editor of the channel and well-known destroyer of rats.
6. They often get well-known guests to come on their show, such as Ricepirate, Matt and Ryan of SuperMega, Cryburger, JonTron, Sr Pelo, and Phantom Arcade.
   • Almost all of these guests are likeable.
7. In a similar fashion to Game Grumps, there are animated versions of their content, which are well-animated and entertaining.
8. They satirize and make fun of numerous political topics, such extreme leftists (aka SJWs), internet movements such as #MeToo and #GamerGate (despite supporting it), and Zach has done impressions of presidential candidates such as John F. Kennedy and Donald Trump.
9. They produced what is often called "the worst episode of OneyPlays" because in the previous episode, they said "if you see another episode, dislike it into the ground and comment that it's the worst episode you've ever seen." Then, they said that in the episode after that to compliment them on their amazing comeback, proving that they listen to their fans and their fans listen to them.
   • All the comments in that episode made fun of stingy Game Grumps fans who complain about Jon being better than Danny.
10. All of the hosts care about the state of the channel and know when to retire running gags such as the "brown bricks" or "boiling milk" jokes. Even then, they didn't repeat those jokes all that much.
11. They combine all of their episodes from a single series together into one long video, which is useful for viewers.
12. Decent editing courtesy of Camera Colossus, Lyle, and Ding Dong, among others.
13. Great artwork in many of their thumbnails.
    • Recently, the artwork is even better and takes up the whole thumbnail!
14. Spawned various quotes and moments which have gone on to internet fame, such as Crash Bandicoot's "Woah!", "Eggs for Bart" and "Oh, fuck you, Luigi!".
15. This series as a whole, as well as the memes it spawned, have led it to become one of the best let's play channels of all time.

Bad Qualities

1. The series experienced a decline in quality when DingDong and Julian left the channel in 2018 to focus on their game development. Even though Zach, Tomar, and Lyle are decent hosts, the channel isn't as good as what it used to be.
2. Some of their jokes can be viewed as rather tasteless, so this show is not for the easily offended.
   • In fact, Chris has used numerous slurs such as "f*ggot" and "r*tard." Fortunately, he doesn't do this as much in recent episodes.
3. They constantly reupload their Complete Series videos due to demonetization, and some of the censorship in them ruins the jokes. This gives off the implication that they care more about money than their fans.

Reception

• OneyPlays was acclaimed by fans and critics alike, and is considered one of the best Let's Play series of all time, even more so than Game Grumps. The series currently holds a 9.5/10 on IMDb.
