SuperMarioLogan (often shortened to SML), is an American YouTuber who's notable for making plush videos, and his character Jeffy. He uses plushies from Mario games, and has some toys that are non-Nintendo as well. He also does reviews, updates, etc. His reviews were on his SuperLuigiLogan channel, which was once his new main channel. He started making videos in late 2007. His entire channel has been demonetized since late 2017. On the SuperLuigiLogan channel the content ranges from SML Movies to SML Reactions, where Logan gives Behind the Scenes and facts when filming certain episodes. He currently uploads his current SML plush videos on the SuperBowserLogan channel, since July 2019.

Plot

Plush versions of Mario characters, and many non-Mario characters, have adventures at their home and at school.

Why It Used to Be Super

  1. It takes an interesting approach of making a Super Mario sitcom with plushies, and it actually works quite well.
  2. It started off as a channel with some teenagers making home movies with plush toys just for fun and slowly became an enjoyable plush series as time passed on.
  3. Because of this, it pioneered plushtubing and made a universal influence in inspiring many people out there to making plush videos.
  4. There are quite a lot of interesting, funny, and likable characters such as:

    3. Bowser Junior (despite being overused during 2014-2015 and having unlikable moments in recent/past videos)

    9. Craig the Devil

  5. There are quite a lot of funny jokes and puns, not to mention that most of the videos didn't rely on filler, inappropriate jokes, non-stop swearing, and gross-out humor as it does nowadays.
  6. Decent video editing and special effects.
  7. Some videos tell good morals, such as "do not change who you are", "don't play with guns" and etc.
  8. Aside from the main channel, the secondary channels such as SuperLuigiLogan (which was used for bonus content and BTS videos), SuperPeachLogan (which was used to make videos of Logan's cat, the channel was soon changed into Chilly's channel) and SuperBowserLogan (which was used as a gaming channel) are also fun to watch.
  9. The channel has spawned a lot of unique and memorable series, including:

  10. Whilst the Mario characters don't have the same personalities as they do in the video games, their new personalities here actually somewhat fit their character.
  11. It manages to have a nostalgic Nintendo game feel to it, despite the characters not having the same personalities and also the fact it focuses on non-Nintendo characters and plots at times.
  12. The voice acting is amazing, Chris, Zeke, and Lovell are the most notable when it comes to great acting.

Bad Qualities

  1. Most of the videos overuse the some of the same stock tracks from the YouTube Audio Library, which can get quite repetitive.
  2. The videos from 2007-mid 2008 (often called "The Old Era") were mostly unfunny and boring compared to “The Classic Era”. Though this is somewhat excusable as it was mostly kids goofing around.
  3. Some characters are unlikable and/or annoying:
    1. Despite being good in 2007-2010, Bowser was flanderized in 2011 and became lazy and rude and is even uncaring to his own son. Fortunately, he did recover from flanderization in 2017.
    2. Bowser Junior, while not a bad character during these years, he can be quite bratty and annoying in some episodes, not to mention he became one of the most overused characters during 2014 & 2015.
    3. Joseph is a unlikable at times and his personality is very flat compared to his friends.
    4. While Shrek is a funny character, but his gross-out humor can be extremely annoying at times.
    5. Cody's Parents, Tyrone and Judy are both annoying and unlikeable.
    6. Starting in 2011, most of the SML fandom started to hate Peach because she dumped Mario because he was bald.
    7. As of the video "Jeffy's Cellphone", Rosalina has been flanderized into being a nagging, borderline abusive housewife who rarely acts as a nice girl anymore.
    8. While Mr. Goodman still have his fans, his character shifted into a corrupt multi-billionaire stereotype as of "The Koopalings Part 2", which has made him hated by many.
    9. David Winkle is pretty unlikable due to his perverted actions.
    10. Toadette is unlikable due to her annoying voice and being perverted to Bowser Jr..
  4. The channel went downhill horribly after Jeffy started to become overused in [mh:terribletvshows:SML Movies and Shorts (2017-present)|2017]].
    • 2016, while still good, is arguably considered the weakest of all the good years as not only this is the year Jeffy was introduced, but this also kickstarted problems that will become a norm since 2017 such as having even more flanderization and has few more bad episodes than the previous years such as "Mario The Babysitter", "Cody's Birthday", "Jeffy's Bad Word", "Jeffy's Favorite Song" and "Locked Out".
  5. There are even a handful of bad or mediocre episodes before 2017, they once even cluttered the TTVSW with their own individual pages before they were all subsequently banned from that wiki and were relocated to Horrible TV Show Episodes Wiki (though the episodes have been restored on the wiki after they were both merged), some examples include:

  6. Because of Nintendo's cease and desist letter, SuperMarioLogan was deleted on July 8th, 2021, and SuperLuigiLogan's and SuperBowserLogan's videos were privated in August and September 2021, respectively. However, SBL's videos were restored in November of that year, likely because Logan removed Nintendo characters from their titles and thumbnails; many of SLL's videos were restored in August 2022 for unknown reasons before the channel was deleted entirely on March 19, 2023.
    • Almost all of the SML videos on every channel have been reuploaded by fans, meaning this channel's videos will still be around.

Reception

2007-2012 (sometimes referred to as The Classic Era by fans) was a well-received era by many SML fans, it was mainly well-received because of "Mario & Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures" which was very popular during that era.

2013-2015 (sometimes referred to as The Junior Era by fans) initially garnered mixed reception from SML fans, with some considering this era just as good as the previous era and some fans despising this era and criticized this era because of Bowser Junior becoming the most overused character by 2014, some weak episodes and many old characters wouldn't get the spotlight. However, in more recent years, this era is regarded much more positively in hindsight, especially when compared to The Jeffy Era (2016-present), and is now widely agreed to be part of SML's golden era, with 2015 in particular often being considered as one of if not the best SML year.

2016-present (sometimes referred to as The Jeffy Era by fans) at first recevied mixed reception from SML fans who still considered as good as "The Junior Era". But ever since 2017, this era would received mixed to negative reviews amongst SML fans as it was criticized for Jeffy becoming the most overused character and no other characters focused on besides him, Mario, and Junior, lots of character flanderizations, gross-out and unfunny humour, and plenty of bad episodes.
